Using the correct naming conventions for your Opportunities will make it easier to search for them, as well as look back at them once completed.
Using the right naming convention for Opportunities will make them easier to search and look back on once completed.
Whatever you decide to choose as your naming convention, be consistent, and be sure to explain what you have chosen to all your Daylite users.
Use the name of the client and product that you are selling. For example, The Grass is Greener Landscaping - Lawn Care Accessories. This will help when searching and linking.
You could name the Opportunity so that it describes what you would like the outcome of the Opportunity to be. This method can be helpful for motivation if the Objective is clearly stated. For example, Sell 4 days of consulting to Obversys, or Win tender for Cosy Clothing shoot in July 2024.
You may find it useful to add the initials of whoever is working on the Opportunity to let others know. As an example, if Ben Daley and James Finn created an Opportunity then you could preface the Opportunity with BD & JF to let everyone know.
Alternatively, you could link both users who are involved with the Opportunity and give them a Role too.
Sometimes it may be helpful to add a Code Number or Purchase Order Number to your Opportunity. You can do this by navigating to Settings > Custom Fields > Opportunity and entering up to twelve additonal fields.
Even though it is possible to set the Ownership for each Opportunity, an Opportunity can be owned by just one user at a time.
By default, the user who creates an Opportunity is initially also the user who owns the Opportunity. This can be changed afterwards at any time if needed.
