Although Daylite does not possess it's own bulk mailing capability, it is possible to integrate with other mass mailing services such as or

There are two methods for integrating with bulk mailing apps.

Both of these use Daylite Groups, so it is worth explaining a little about how Daylite Groups work.

Using Groups in Email Marketing Campaigns

Groups can be found in the Daylite Sidebar.

They are an excellent way to gather information together. There are many uses for Groups but we are going to focus here on using Groups to make lists of Contacts for the purpose of creating an email marketing campaign.

Selecting All Groups lists all of the available Groups you have created so far.

Creating a New Group

It is easy to create a new Group in Daylite.

For example you might create a new Group called Newsletter, which is visible to all other Daylite users.

Once you have created this Group, you can start to link Contacts to it.

You can do this three different ways.

  • Select the Contacts you want to add to the Group, and then Drag and Drop them onto the Group.

  • Select the Contacts you want to add to the Group, and then use the Link To keyboard shortcut, commonly referred to as cmd +L.

  • Select the Contacts you want to add to the Group, and then navigate to Edit > Link to... and choose the Group.

The Group would then show the selected Contacts.

Each of these Contact records would also show that they are linked to the Group.

Pro Tip:

Use the cmd+E - Backspace keyboard shortcut to unlink a Contact from the Group.

Be sure to select unlink and not Delete.

To prevent a performance slowdown, try to limit a Group's linked Contacts to no more than 4000 records.

Other Ways to View Your Groups

It is possible to view Contacts within a Group by creating a Smart List like the one below.

You can also see which Groups a Contact belongs to in the Multi-Column List View.

External Synchronization

This method makes use of dedicated plugins that handle the synchronization between Daylite and the email marketing app. Both services below require Contacts to be added to a Daylite Group which is used for syncing.

Manually Exporting Lists from Daylite

By manually exporting your lists you have direct control over what information you wish to export.

This list could be from a Smart List that filters members of a Group or maybe members that are tagged with a Keyword or Category.

Start by using Spreadsheet View to display a list of Contacts.

  • Choose the Spreadsheet View from the top menu bar.

  • To add or remove columns when using Spreadsheet View simply right click one of the column headers to display the available columns you wish to see. The columns you. choose will be the ones to appear in your export. Check or uncheck the columns to design the format that works best for you and Daylite will remember your column choice the next time you use the smart list.

  • You can add and export as many columns as needed.

To export, select the lists in Spreadsheet View and then navigate to File > Export > Export Visible Columns and Selected Rows to File.

The resulting file saving dialogue box will ask if you wish to export the list in a CSV (Comma Delimited) or Tab Delimited text file.

- a paid for plugin subscription is available from iOSXpert which will sync Contacts from a Daylite Group to a Mailchimp audience.

- offers a free plugin that syncs Contacts from a Daylite Group to an address list in DirectMail, which is then ready for sending in an email blast by applying it to an email template.
