Adding an Email to Daylite

Estimated Time to Complete: 5 minutes

Now that you have turned on Daylite Mail Assistant, it's time to experience how it can help streamline your business. Thanks to Daylite's integration with Apple Mail and Outlook, you can link emails and contacts to new and existing Opportunities, Projects, Tasks and more.

Be sure to check out the 'Want More' section below for important information on Daylite Mail Assistant's view and settings

Add an email to Daylite

Note the Daylite icon in the top corner of the Mail window.

You can open and close the Daylite Mail Assistant window. When you close it, the Daylite icon will show in the top right corner of your mail window. Clicking this icon will re-open the Daylite Mail Assistant window.

  1. Select any email in your inbox you wish to add to Daylite and click the Add to Daylite button in the Daylite Mail Assistant window.

  1. The Add to Daylite button will change to In Daylite, and the Daylite Mail Assistant window will add the email to Daylite. If the email is from an existing Daylite Contact, or there is a Daylite Contact in the To, Cc, or Bcc fields, the email will be auto-linked to the Contact. If the Contact is linked to an active Opportunity or Project the email will automatically be linked with these as well. (More on Opportunities and Projects later in the guide!)

  1. You can view a Contact's detail card by clicking on the arrow to the right of their name. From here you can view all of their details, but to see their full history in the Activity View, click the Show in Daylite button.

  1. Linking Items to Your Email

The Daylite Mail Assistant allows you to fill in all the necessary information from Mail to go into Daylite, so you have all the details you need at your fingertips

  1. Daylite's Activity View now shows you the email that has been linked to the Contact record. The Activity View shows every Contact's interactions chronologically, and each Item shown has an associated icon to make it easier to identify; in this case, an email icon.

Summary

Congratulations! You have now set up and begun to utilize Daylite Mail Assistant, bringing the key information out of your inbox and into Daylite!
