Removing a calendar sync disconnects a Google calendar from the Daylite category it was paired with. Appointments stop flowing between the two apps, and the category is freed up to be used in a different sync or deleted.
When you delete a sync, you're asked what to do with the Appointments that already synced. It's worth understanding both options before you choose.

What Happens When I Remove a Google Calendar Sync?
Removing a Google calendar sync stops the Google calendar and Daylite passing changes to each other, and the category becomes available to pair with a different calendar and allows you to delete the category. Your Google calendar itself is never deleted or unsubscribed.
What happens to the Appointments that already synced depends on which option you choose when you delete the sync:
Keep copies of synced events (default) Every synced Appointment stays in both Daylite and Google Calendar, so you keep a full history in each app. Because the two are no longer connected, an edit made to one copy after this point won't reach the other, so the two can drift into different versions of the same event over time.
Delete copies of synced events Appointments are removed from the app they were syncing to, and remain in the app they were created in. Neither app keeps a record of what happened in the other, and any Daylite links, Notes, or files you'd added to a Google-originated Appointment are lost along with it.
What Do I Lose When I Remove a Sync?
If you choose Keep copies, nothing — every Appointment and everything linked to it stays exactly where it is in both apps. You just lose the ongoing connection between them.
If you choose Delete copies, you lose the Daylite side of anything that started life in Google: any Contacts, Opportunities, Projects, or Tasks you linked to a Google-originated Appointment, along with its Notes and files, are deleted along with the Appointment itself. Appointments you originally created in Daylite are never deleted — they're only removed from Google Calendar either way.

If you've linked a lot of Daylite records to Google-originated Appointments and don't want to lose them, choose Keep copies. If you'd rather avoid the two calendars drifting apart and don't need those links, choose Delete copies instead. How Do I Remove a Google Calendar Sync?
Go to Daylite > Settings > Calendar Integration > Calendar Sync and click Manage Calendar Sync
Click Delete next to the calendar sync you want to remove.
Choose Keep copies of synced events or Delete copies of synced events, then click Delete Calendar Sync.
The sync stops immediately, and the paired category is available to use in a new sync right away.
How Do I Remove Another User's Calendar Sync?
You can't. Each user manages their own Google Calendar syncs, and only that user can remove them.
If the person has left your company, deactivating their Daylite user account removes all of their Google Calendar syncs for you.
How Do I Disconnect My Google Account?
Disconnecting a Google account removes every calendar sync that uses it. The steps are the same as removing a single sync.
Go to Daylite > Settings > Calendar Integration > Calendar Sync and click Manage Calendar Sync
Click Delete next to the Google account you want to disconnect.
Choose Keep copies of synced events or Delete copies of synced events, then confirm.
The account and its calendar syncs are removed from Daylite. To use it again, add it back with Add Google Account and set up your syncs from scratch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I set the sync up again later?
Yes. If you chose Delete copies, any Daylite links you'd added to Google events are gone for good. If you chose Keep copies, Daylite tries to match the old Appointments against the returning ones, and a missed match puts the same meeting on your calendar twice.
Does removing a sync delete my Google calendar?
No. Delete copies removes only the events Daylite created there. Keep copies touches nothing in Google.
I'm trying to delete a category and Daylite won't let me
The category is locked until every sync using it is removed. First remove the Google Calendar sync and then delete the category.
